The system provides the intelligent power adjustment (IPA) function for PID boards. When there is a fiber break on the line, the upstream PID board is shut down to prevent injuries to human body. After the system is recovered, the PID board resumes normal operation. This topic describes how to configure PID IPA attributes.
In the NE Explorer, select the PID board and choose from the Function Tree.
Parameter |
Value |
Description |
|---|---|---|
Interface |
For example: IN/OUT-1 |
Displays the optical port for which IPA is configured. |
IPA Status |
Enabled, Disabled |
This parameter specifies whether to start the IPA function immediately in case of a fiber cut, equipment performance deterioration, or fiber disconnection from a PID board.
|
Restart Mode |
Automatic, Manual |
This parameter indicates the restart mode of the laser on the PID board participating in IPA. When Restart Mode is set to Automatic, the PID board automatically opens its laser without involving
human intervention after the fiber is repaired. When Restart Mode is set to Manual, IPA must be started manually so that it can open the laser on the PID board after the fiber is repaired.
|
Off Period (s) |
100 to 300 |
This parameter specifies the time period in which the laser on a PID board is shut down during detection of laser pulses. When the Reset Mode is set to Manual, the turn-off duration is fixed at 100s. |
Laser Status |
ON, OFF |
This parameter shows the laser status of a PID board. |
