Power Saving Configuration

This topic describes parameters for managing the power-saving configuration of an NE. You can adjust the power status of an NE by using the power-saving switch.

Navigation Path

Choose Configuration > NE Batch Configuration > Power Management from the main menu (traditional style); alternatively, double-click Fix-Network NE Configuration in Application Center and choose Configuration > NE Batch Configuration > Power Management from the main menu (application style). Click the Power Saving Configuration tab.

  • If a column is not set filter criteria, this filter icon appears after you rest the pointer on a column header (except the No. parameter).
  • If a column has been set filter criteria, the filter button is always displayed on the right of the parameter name (except the No. parameter).
  • Sets filter criteria to filter related values. In the dialog box that is displayed after you click this icon, you can set filter criteria using either of the following two methods:
    • Click the first option button and select a criterion from the drop-down list.
    • Click the second option button, select Contains or Does Not Contain from the drop-down list, and enter keywords in the text box.

Sets the serial number of an NE.

NE Name

Sets the NE name.

Idle Boards

Enable Power Saving, Disable Power Saving

Sets the status of the power-saving switch of logical boards that are configured on NEs but not on the Web LCT.

Idle Lower Order Cross-Connect Board

Enable Power Saving, Disable Power Saving

Sets the status of the power-saving switch of services that are not configured with lower order cross-connections (including VC12 and VC3) in the cross-connect boards.

Idle Ports

Enable Power Saving, Disable Power Saving

Sets the status of the power-saving switch for an idle port.

Idle Cross-Connect Bus

Enable Power Saving, Disable Power Saving

Displays the power-saving status of the idle cross-connect bus of an NE.

This parameter can be queried only.

Standby Cross-Connect Board

Hot Standby, Warm Standby

Sets the standby mode of the standby cross-connect board.
  • Hot standby: The standby cross-connect board backs up the data on the active cross-connect board in real time. This standby mode, however, has relatively high power consumption.
  • Warm standby: The standby cross-connect board backs up the data on the active cross-connect board only when the active board is faulty. This standby mode, however, has relatively low power consumption.

Power-Saving Mode

Normal mode, Power-Saving mode, Enhanced power-saving mode

Indicates the power-saving mode of the NE.

NOTE:
In the case of different boards on different equipment, different parameters are supported. According to the corresponding user interface of the NMS, the GUI Reference table lists the whole set of parameters in this user interface of the NMS.
