Basic Attribute

In this user interface, when an NE is connected to an external clock source, you can set the interface attributes of the external clock source, so that the NE can extract the external clock properly.

Background Information

The OptiX OSN 6800 supports the external clock interfaces of 120 ohms and 75 ohms. The external clock interface supports the adaptive algorithm. When both the 120-ohm clock interface and the 75-ohm clock interface exist or none of them exists, the 120-ohm clock interface is selected by priority.

Navigation Path

In the NE Explorer, select an NE and then choose Configuration > Clock > PTP Clock > External Time Interface from the Function Tree. Click the Basic Attribute tab.

Parameter Description

External Time Interface	shelf ID(shelf name)-slot number-board name-external clock interface	Indicates the name of the input interface of the external clock source on the NE.
Direction	Ingress, Egress Default: Egress	Indicates the direction of the external clock source.
Interface Protocol Type	1PPS+Time	Specifies the interface protocol type of the external clock source on the NE.
Interface Level	RS422	Specifies the interface level according the interface type when the NE is connected to an external clock source. RS422 indicates that the interface type is RJ45. NOTE: For the Interface Level field, the OptiX OSN 6800 only supports the value RS422.
PTP Time Level Mode	Manual Configuration, Automatic Switch	Indicates the mode for setting the time quality levels of external time interfaces. Manual Configuration: You can manually set the time quality levels of external time interfaces. Time Quality Level of external time interface attribute indicates the time quality level. Auto Switch: NEs obtain the time quality levels of external time interfaces automatically after converting 1PPS status values according to the conversion table.
