Configuring Master/Slave Subrack

When multiple subracks are required for an NE, the master/slave subrack mode must be adopted for centralized management. In this mode, multiple subracks are displayed as one NE in the Web LCT. The Web LCT supports the adding, deletion, and modification of slave subracks, and query of slave subrack status.

It is applicable to the OptiX OSN 1800 series, OptiX OSN 6800, OptiX OSN 8800 series, OptiX OSN 9600/9800 series.

• Master/Slave Subrack Configuration
  The WDM equipment supports the management of master/slave subracks. When multiple subracks are required for an NE, the master/slave subrack mode must be adopted for centralized management. In the master/slave subrack mode, the master subrack and its multiple slave subracks are displayed as one NE in the network management system. They share the same NE ID and IP address.
• Adding a Slave Subrack
  After slave subracks are added, multiple NEs of the same type can communicate with the Web LCT through a main subrack. Thus, the service grooming capability of the equipment is enhanced.
• Modifying the Name of the Master or Slave Subrack
  You can set the attributes of the master or slave subrack to modify the name of the master or slave subrack.
• Querying the Status of a Slave Subrack
  You can query the status of a slave subrack. The status includes Physical Installed, Logical Installed, and Not Installed.
• Deleting a Slave Subrack
  You can delete the slave subrack that is not required.
