You can configure standby GNEs for NEs to avoid service interruption due to GNE failure. When a GNE for NEs fails, the GNE is automatically switched to a standby GNE, which then connects NEs to the Web LCT. Switching GNEs interrupts the communication transiently but does not affect services. You can configure up to three standby GNEs for an NE.
Procedure
- Choose from the main
menu (traditional style); alternatively, double-click Fix-Network
NE Configuration in Application Center and choose from the main
menu (application style). Click the NE tab.
- In the Filter dialog box, set the filter criteria and click OK to filter out the desired NEs.
NOTE: The filter parameters are an AND relationship. Retain the default values of the parameters that do not need to be filtered.
- Click Refresh to query the GNE switching status.
- Select an NE. Double-click the Primary GNE1 field and select a GNE from the drop-down list.
- Select the desired NE, double-click GNE2 and select a GNE from the drop-down list.
- To configure multiple standby GNEs, select a GNE from the GNE3 and GNE4 drop-down lists.
- When the active GNE and standby GNEs fail one by one, the switching sequence is Primary GNE1, GNE2, GNE3, and GNE4.
- You can select multiple lines at a time to set standby NEs in batches.
- Click Apply. In the Operation Result dialog box, click Close.
