Dividing a Network into ECC Subnets

When the number of NEs in a network is beyond the network limit, the network must be divided into subnets and ECC communication between the subnets is not allowed.

Prerequisites

The user must log in to the NE.

Context

ECC communication is not allowed between subnets. Therefore, according to the network topology diagram and wavelength allocation diagram, you need to determine the edge port DCC/GCC channels of OSC or ESC boards that must be disabled or removed for edge NEs.
NOTICE:

When the ASON protocol is enabled for the network, the DCN channels on the edge NEs must be deleted.

Procedure

  1. Select the NE where the board is installed from the Object Tree in the NE Explorer. Choose Communication > DCC Management from the Function Tree.
  2. Optional: On the DCC Rate Configuration tab, select the optical interface of the OSC board, which connects the east and west cabinets. Then set the Enabled/Disabled status of the optical interface to Disabled.
  3. Optional: On the DCC Rate Configuration tab, select the desired port on the board and click Delete at the lower right.
