Creating a Virtual Interfaces

Procedure

1. Disable the LMP protocol.
   1. In the NE Explorer of NE1, select an NE and choose ASON > Advanced Maintenance from the Function Tree.
   2. Click the ASON Protocol Management tab. Click Query to query the ASON protocol information from the NE.
   3. Select the port at which the LMP is to be disabled, e.g. 5-N1SL4-1(SDH-1). Double-click the LMP Protocol Status column and choose Disabled from the drop-down list.
      NOTE:

      If you need to enable the LMP protocol, choose Enabled.

   4. Click Apply. A confirmation dialog box is displayed.
   5. Click Yes. The operation result dialog box is displayed. Click Close.
   6. Click Query to query the LMP protocol status from the NE.
   7. Follow the preceding steps to disable the LMP protocol on the port 12-N2SL16-1(SDH-1) of NE4.
2. Create the virtual interface.
   1. In the NE Explorer of NE1, select a board of an ASON NE and choose ASON > ASON Link Virtual Interface Management from the Function Tree.
   2. Select the TE link whose source is NE1-5-N1SL4-1(SDH-1) and click Create Virtual Interface. The Create Virtual Interface dialog box is displayed.
   3. Select timeslot 1-4, click , and then click OK.
      NOTICE:

      The number of timeslots in the Selected Timeslots list must equal the number of timeslots on the remote virtual interface.

   4. In the operation result dialog box, click Close.
   5. Click Query, view the information of the virtual interface.
