Managing the Optical Power

Optical power management is the core part to ensure normal transmission of signals. For multiplexed signals, sufficient optical power is an important factor to maintain transmission of signals over a long distance. For a single signal, power equalization between signals is an important factor that affects the transmission quality of signals. The U2000 Web LCT provides optical power control, equalization, link detection and protection for link fault.

Customizing the Optical Power Management Template
On the U2000 Web LCT, you can customize the optical power management template. By using the template, you can query parameters, such as the input optical power and output optical power, of a specified object and set parameters, such as the reference values of the input and output optical power and the reference working threshold.
Querying Optical Power of a Board
The optical power of a signal changes after it is transmitted. This change affects intensity and sensitivity of the signal. If the optical power is too high or too low, damage to optical components or bit errors may be caused, affecting the service. Querying optical power is a common maintenance method.
