Checking the Communication of NEs
The communication status of NEs must be detected to ensure successful communication between NEs.
- Performing NE ID-based Ping Tests
You can perform an NE ID-based ping (ECC Ping) test on NEs to check the communication between two NEs. From the test result, you can learn the packet loss rate and delay that reflect the network status.
- Checking the Network Communication Status
A running network may suffer intermittent disconnection or NE unreachability due to the unstable data communication network (DCN) between the server and clients. This topic describes how to check network communication status to know about the communication between the U2000 Web LCT and NEs.
- Performing NE ID-based Traceroute Test
You can perform an NE ID-based traceroute (ECC traceroute) test on NEs to check the communication between two NEs, find the transit NEs between them, and locate a fault. From the test result, you can learn transit nodes and the communication status between the two NEs.
- Performing IP Address-based Ping Tests
You can ping the IP address of an third-party NE from Huawei NE to check their connection status. The ping result contains information such as packet loss and delay, which helps you ascertain the live network status.
- Performing IP Address-based Traceroute Tests
You can traceroute an address of an third-party NE from Huawei NE to check their connection status or identify faulty nodes or links between the two NEs. The traceroute result shows whether the two NEs can communicate with each other and displays their intermediate nodes.
