Enabling the Port DCN

The DCN packets can be transported in the inband DCN only when the DCN access function is enabled for the ports at two ends of the link.

Procedure

  1. In the NE Explorer, select an NE and choose Communication > DCN Management from the Function Tree.
  2. Click the Port Settings tab.
  3. Select different interface types, and set the corresponding attributes.

    NOTE:
    Take the following precautions when enabling the DCN:
    • When you configure an Ethernet service that exclusively uses a port, disable the DCN function of the port.
    • When an E1 port accesses the CES and IMA services, disable the DCN function of the port.
    • After you enable DCN for a port, the VLAN IDs of other services configured for the port cannot be the same as the VLAN IDs of DCN packets.

  4. Click Apply.
