Maintaining Device Hardware and Microwave Links
To ensure that microwave links can work properly for a long time, maintain device hardware and the links regularly. If any issues are found, diagnose them.
- Testing the Fade Margin
This topic describes how to test the fade margin. The fade margin is also an item in the hardware acceptance test of a project. After the hardware is installed and single-hop microwave links are commissioned, the fade margin is tested to check the deviation between the actual value and the theoretical value in network planning.
- Testing the Connectivity of IF Cables
By testing intermediate frequency (IF) cables, you can detect and locate faults on microwave equipment hardware. This helps improve the efficiency of fault diagnosis, and equipment installation and maintenance.
- Setting Loopback for the Microwave Link
In the user interface, you can view or set the loopback status of the IF interface or ODU interface at the two ends of a microwave link to locate equipment faults.
- Scanning ODU Frequency Interference
This topic describes how to use the U2000 Web LCT for frequency scanning. When channel interference occurs, the commonly-used method is using special instruments to check whether interference occurs on transmit frequencies. However, using special instruments to scan frequencies is not cost-effective. Instead, you can use the automatic frequency scanning function provided by the U2000 Web LCT.
