Fade Margin

The U2000 Web LCT offers the function of calculating the fade margins in two directions of a single-hop microwave link by means of an automatic test. In this manner, field trips of engineers are not required.

In the NE Explorer, choose Configuration > Fade Margin from the navigation tree.

Start	Starts the test and calculates the fade margin. NOTE: Such tests cannot be performed between the local NE and a remote NE of an earlier version. Such tests must be performed from the IFU2 board on the local NE when the transmit power of the remote NE is small.

Parameter Description

Parameter	Value	Description
Link ID	For example: 1	Displays the microwave link ID.
Local NE	For example: NE9-85, NE Name: NE 985 IP: 129.9.0.85 1-IFU2	Displays the local NE information.
Remote NE	For example: NE9-86, NE Name: NE 986 IP: 129.9.0.86 1-IFU2	Displays the remote NE information.
Direction	Remote To Local, Local To Remote	Selects the direction to be tested. Remote To Local: indicates that the local fade margin is tested. The remote end is the transmit end and the local end is the receive end. Local To Remote: indicates that the remote fade margin is tested. The local end is the transmit end and the remote end is the receive end.
Result	Character string	Displays the test result.
