Physical Link Aggregation

Physical link aggregation (PLA/EPLA) allows all Ethernet transmission paths in several Integrated IP microwave links connected to the same equipment to be aggregated as a PLA. For MAC users, a PLA works as a single link.

Navigation Path

In the NE Explorer, select an NE and choose Configuration > Physical Link Aggregation.

Description

Browse Current Alarms

Displays the browse current alarms window and you can query the current alarms.

Browse Historical Alarms

Displays the browse historical alarms window and you can query the browse historical alarms.

Alarm Suppression

Displays the alarm suppression dialog box.

  • After the alarm suppression is set successfully for an alarm, NEs do not report this alarm any more.
  • After the alarm suppression is set successfully for an alarm, the alarm that has been reported is cleared.

Browse Performance

Displays the performance management window where you can browse the current and historical performance data.

Performance Statistics Management

Displays the performance statistics management dialog box where you can create or view performance monitoring instances to browse the current or historical performance data.

Parameters

Table 1 Parameters for RTN910/950/980/380 and RTN905(Subrack Type:I or II)

Field

Value

Description

PLA ID

For example: 1

Displays physical PLA ID.

PLA Type

EPLA,PLA

Sets physical PLA type.

EPLA is enhanced PLA. PLA can aggregate only two links. EPLA can aggregate up to four links. Common PLA is performed on IF ports and therefore requires paired slots. EPLA is performed by data switching chips and therefore raises no requirement for slots.

Main Board

For example: slot number-board name

Sets and sets main board.

Main Port

For example: port number(port name)

A main port represents its PLA group.
  • A main port represents a PLA group to participate in service configuration.
  • A PLA group has only one main port.
  • The main port of a PLA group does not change since it is configured.
  • After a PLA group is deleted, its services are still carried by the main port.

Hardware Status of Main Port

For example: Abnormal

Displays the hardware status of main port.

Link Status of Main Port

For example: Abnormal

Displays the link status of main port.

Work Status of Main Port

For example: Main Port

Displays the work status of main port.

Minimum Active Links

For example: 1

Sets the minimum active links.
  • An PLA group can be activated only when the number of active links in the group is equal to the specified value.
  • To trigger ERPS switching upon a failure in a PLA member link when PLA and ERPS work together, Minimum Active Links must be set to 2.

Slave Board

For example: Abnormal

Sets slave board.

Slave Port

For example: Slave Port

In a PLA group, the ports other than the main port are slave ports.
  • A slave port cannot participate in service configuration.
  • A slave port of a PLA group does not change since it is configured.
NOTE:
  • A PLA group always includes one slave port.

  • An EPLA group includes a maximum of four slave ports.

  • PLA cannot interwork with EPLA.

Hardware Status of Slave Port

For example: Abnormal

Displays the hardware status of slave port.

Link Status of Slave Port

For example: Abnormal

Displays the link status of slave port.

Work Status of Slave Port

For example: Slave Port

Displays the work status of slave port.
