Maintenance Association

The maintenance association (MA) facilitates the connectivity check (CC) of the network that transports the service instances.

The E-Line, E-LAN or E-AGGR service requires information in this interface. The navigation paths for the three services are as follows:

In the NE Explorer, click the NE and choose Configuration > Ethernet Service Management > E-Line Service. Then click the Maintenance Association tab.
In the NE Explorer, click the NE and choose Configuration > Ethernet Service Management > E-LAN Service. Then click the Maintenance Association tab.
In the NE Explorer, click the NE and choose Configuration > Ethernet Service Management > E-AGGR Service. Then click the Maintenance Association tab.

View Remote MEP Point	View the information about the remote MEPs in a maintenance association.

Field	Value	Description
Maintenance Domain Name	1-8 characters	Set an MD name that is unique in the entire network.
Maintenance Association Name	1-8 characters bytes	Set an MA name that is unique in the same MD.
CC Test Transmit Period	3.33 ms, 10 ms, 100 ms, 1s, 10s, 1min, 10min	Set the period for transmitting the CC packets.
Protocol/Standard	802.1ag, Y.1731	Indicates the protocol or standard in use. If a transport NE is connected to a wireless NE, set Protocol/Standard to Y.1731. If the transport NE is connected to another transport NE, set Protocol/Standard to 802.1ag.
MEG ID	Example: 1	Indicates the MEG ID. This parameter is required when Protocol/Standard is set to Y.1731, and the MEG ID must be consistent between the NEs connected to each other. Only the ICC format is supported for MEG ID.
