PW Management

When you create a service, a PW is created. The PWs are not bundled with services, however, are not displayed. Hence, you need to query these PWs in the PW Management interface. In the PW Management interface, you can query all PWs created on the equipment, and parameters such as PW type, QoS parameters, OAM parameters and bearer tunnel.

Navigation Path

For RTN NEs, in the NE Explorer, click the NE and choose Configuration > MPLS Management > PW Management from Function Tree.

Buttons

Button

Description

View Policy Details

Query the QoS policy of the PW.

Query

Query all MPLS PWs created on the NE.

NOTE:

You must complete the creation of an MPLS PW during creating of a service.

Short-Cut Menu

Short-Cut Menu

Description

Browse Current Alarms

Browse current alarms of the PW.

Browse Historical Alarms

Browse history alarms of the PW.

Alarm Suppression

When an alarm is suppressed for a PW, the alarm is not reported either on the NE or on the U2000 Web LCT.

Browse Performance

Browse the performance events to check for the abnormal status that does not generate alarms on the PW. The maintenance personnel then can take proper measures to avoid faults.

Performance Statistics Management

Browse the common performance events of PW to check for the abnormal status that does not generate alarms on the PW. The maintenance personnel then can take proper measures to avoid faults.

PW Ping Test

By performing a Ping test on the PW, you can check the PW status.

Disable

Disable the current PW.

Enable

Enable the current PW.

Switch to Y.1711

Switches the OAM recommendation of a PW to the Y.1711 recommendation.

Switch to Y.1731

Switches the OAM recommendation of a PW to the Y.1731 recommendation.

Query PW-Down Cause

Query the fault cause when the PW is not normally created, and the services are unavailable.

Query Actual Negotiation Results

Query the actual negotiation results between the source and sink node.

Parameters

Table 1 Descriptions of the parameters for PW

Field

Value

Description

Index

Example: 1

Indicates the PW index. The PW in alarm can be located according to the Monitored Object value.

PW ID

Example: 5

Display the PW ID.

PW Status

Enabled, Disabled

Display the enable state of the PW.

PW Signaling Type

Static, Dynamic

Display the PW signaling type.
  • If PW Signaling Type is set to dynamic, the system automatically allocates the PW ingress label and PW egress label.
  • If PW Signaling Type is set to static, set the PW ingress label and PW egress label manually.

PW Type

Example: SATop

Display the PW service type.

PW Direction

Bidirectional, Unidirectional

Display the direction of the PW.

Currently, the static unicast PW should only be bidirectional.

PW Encapsulation Type

MPLS

Display the PW encapsulation type.

PW Incoming Label/Source Port

Example: 35

Display the PW ingress label.

Indicates the label that enters the PW.

PW Egress Label/Sink Port

Example: 36

Display the PW egress label.

Indicates the label that exits the PW.

Peer LSR ID

Example: 192.168.0.3

Specifies the LSR ID for the peer node of a PW in the case of single-segment PWs.

Specifies the LSR ID for the node of the peer PW in the case of multi-segment PWs.

Local Operating Status

Example: Up

Display the local Operating status of the PW.

Remote Operating Status

Example: Down

Display the remote Operating Status of the PW.

Overall Operating Status

Up, Down

Display the overall Operating Status of the PW.

Overall Operating Status is up only when Local Operating Status and Remote Operating Status are up.

Tunnel Type

MPLS

Indicates or specifies the type of the tunnel.

Tunnel

Example: 16

Specifies the tunnel for carrying a PW.

NOTE:

When you specify an MPLS tunnel for carrying a PW at an NE, the specified tunnel must be an ingress unicast tunnel.

Tunnel No

Example: 1

Display the ID of the ingress tunnel that carries the bidirectional PW.

Egress Tunnel

Example: 1

Displays the ID of the egress tunnel that carries the bidirectional PW.

Deployment Status

Deployed, Undeployed

Displays the current deployment state of a PW.

Tunnel for Auto Selection

For example: Static MPLS Tunnel; Dynamic RSVP TE Tunnel; IP Tunnel, GRE Tunnel

Displays the tunnel automatic selection policy when Tunnel Selection Mode is Auto Select. The tunnel types in the value are separated with a comma and the priority of the tunnels of different types decreases from left to right.

RTN NEs do not support set this parameter.

Query Actual Bandwidth

Checked, Unchecked

When this parameter is selected, the actual effective bandwidth is queried. When this parameter is not selected, the configured bandwidth is queried.

The RTN NEs do not support the query of actual bandwidth.

Oam Recommendation

For example: MPLS OAM(Y.1711)

Displays Oam Recommendation.

Switching Triggered by Packet Loss Rate

Enabled, Disabled

Specifies whether to trigger switching when the packet loss rate exceeds thresholds. After you set Switching Triggered by Packet Loss Rate to Enabled, SD Threshold and SF Threshold are available. If the packet loss rate on a PW exceeds the preset SD or SF threshold, tunnel protection switching is triggered.

SD Threshold

1.0E-2, 1.0E-3, 1.0E-4, 1.0E-5, 1.0E-6

Indicates the threshold of SD caused by packet loss.

SF Threshold

1.0E-2, 1.0E-3, 1.0E-4, 1.0E-5, 1.0E-6

Indicates the threshold of SF caused by packet loss.
