Description

  • Bind > PW
  • New > PW

The LPT-enabled NEs at both ends of a PSN are provider edges (PEs) that transmit ETH PWE3 services. An LPT packet carries the same PW label as the service that is transmitted over the PSN.

  • Bind > QinQ
  • New > QinQ

The LPT-enabled NEs at both ends of a QinQ service network push or pop S-VLAN tags. An LPT packet carries the same S-VLAN ID as the service that is transmitted over the QinQ network.

  • Bind > L2 net
  • New > L2 net

The LPT-enabled port on an L2 service network must have unique NET IDs. An LPT packet can carry a VLAN ID according to the requirement of the L2 network.

Parameters

Table 1 Parameters of the Point-to-Point LPT
Field

Value

Description

Binding Status

Unbound, Bound

Displays the binding status.

Primary Function Point

Slot-NE Name

Displays the primary function point.

Primary Function Point Type

PW

Sets the primary function point type.

Secondary Function Point Type

PW

Sets the secondary function point type.

Secondary Function Point

For example: 103

Sets the secondary function point.

LPT Instance Status

Normal, Fault at access side, Fault on service network, Waiting for fault recovery, Recovering from fault

Sets the LPT instance status.

LPT Enabled

Enabled, Disenabled

Sets the LPT enabled status.

Recovery Time (s)

1 to 600

Sets recovery time.

The recovery time refers to the period from the time when the original function point is restored to the time when the services are switched from the secondary function point to the original function point.

In certain scenarios, the state of the primary function point is unstable. In this case, setting the recovery time can prevent frequent switching of services between the primary function point and the second function point.

Recovery Time (ms)

1 to 600000, in step length of 100

Sets recovery time.

The recovery time refers to the period from the time when the original function point is restored to the time when the services are switched from the secondary function point to the original function point.

In certain scenarios, the state of the primary function point is unstable. In this case, setting the recovery time can prevent frequent switching of services between the primary function point and the second function point.

Hold-Off Time (ms)

0 to 10000

After the LPT switching is enabled, the port notifies the peer end of the enabling operation after the hold time expires.

Switching Mode

Strict mode, Non-strict mode

Sets the switching mode of point-to-multipoint LPT.
  • Strict mode: A primary point triggers LPT switching when all its secondary points detect faults.
  • Non-strict mode: A primary point triggers LPT switching when anyone of its secondary points detects a fault.
NOTE:

Point-to-point LPT is available only in strict mode.

Fault Detection Mode

LPT OAM, PW OAM

Sets the fault detection mode of LPT.
  • LPT-enabled NEs periodically transmit LPT OAM packets in specific formats to check the status of an L2 service network or QinQ service network. If the LPT OAM packets are absent for 3.5 fault detection periods or the number and contents of received LPT OAM packets are incorrect, the NEs consider that a network-side fault occurred and the LPT switching is triggered.
  • To detect a network-side fault on a PSN, LPT OAM or PW OAM packets can be used. Note that the PW OAM function must be enabled on NEs before usage of PW OAM packets.

Fault Detection Period (100ms)

3 to 100

Displays the fault detection period.

User-Side Port Status

Closed, Open

Displays the user-side port status.

L2 net ID-L2 Peer net ID

For example: 34-45

Displays the L2 net ID and L2 peer net ID.
