Mirroring Management

In this user interface, you can configure the port mirroring. Then, you can use the port mirroring to perform packet monitoring, daily maintenance and in-service commissioning.

For RTN NEs, in the NE Explorer, click the NE and select Configuration > Port Mirroring.

NOTE:

The service mirroring function complies with universal standards followed by the telecommunication industry. When this function is enabled, other devices or instruments that receive mirrored service packets may need to analyze some information of end users' communications based on the requirements for operation and maintenance. Huawei alone is unable to collect or save the content of users' communications. It is suggested that you activate the interception-related functions based on the applicable laws and regulations in terms of purpose and scope of usage. You are obligated to take considerable measures to ensure that the content of users' communications is fully protected when the content is being used and saved.

Parameters

Field	Value	Description
Mirror ID	Example: 1	This parameter can be automatically assigned by the equipment.
Mirror Name	Example: 1	Displays the name of mirroring.
Direction	INGRESS, EGRESS, BIDIRECTIONAL	Displays the direction of service on the port. NOTE: BIDIRECTIONAL can be set only by 1800V.
Mirror Type	Local Mirror	Indicates the mirroring type. Currently, only local mirroring is supported. In local mirroring, the mirroring source application point is directly connected to the observing instrument.
Mirror Source Function Point	Example: slot number-board name-port number	Currently, only the POS port and Ethernet port support this parameter. The service traffic that travels over the source function point is replicated.
Mirror Source Application Point Type	Port, V-UNI	Indicates the type of a mirroring source application point. Port: All service traffic that traverses the port will be copied and observed. V-UNI: Only the E-Line services with V-UNIs are copied and observed. The service type can be UNI-UNI or UNI-NNI.
VLAN Table	Example: 1	Indicates the VLANs contained in a mirrored E-Line service. This parameter needs to be set when Mirror Source Application Point Type is set to V-UNI.
Direction of Mirror Source Function Point	INGRESS, EGRESS	Currently, only the port mirroring in the ingress direction is supported.
Mirror Observation Point	slot number-board name-port number	Currently, only the Ethernet port can be used as an observation port. The mirroring observation port must be a transparent transmission port and cannot carry any service. The replicated traffic of the mirroring source port is forwarded to the observation point, Then, the traffic is observed and analyzed through an instrument.
