Segment End Attributes

In this user interface, you can set and query segment and end points for monitoring alarms.

Description

If set as a segment point, it can capture the following cells: seg_AIS, seg_RDI, seg_AD, seg_LB, seg_APS. But it cannot capture seg_CC, seg_PM, seg_BR cells, or any end-to-end OAM cell.

If set as an end point, it can capture the following cells: e-t-e_AIS, e-t-e_RDI, e-t-e_AD, e-t-e_LB, and e-t-e_APS. But it cannot capture e-t-e_CC, e-t-e_PM, e-t-e_BR cells, or OAM cell of any segment type.

Navigation Path

In the NE Explorer, click the NE and select Configuration > ATM OAM Management from the Function Tree. Click the Segment End Attributes tab.

NOTE:
  • Cross-connections of only the P2P type supports ATM OAM.
  • When creating an ATM cross-connection, the default value of Segment and end attribute is Non Segment and End point.
  • As protection switching is applicable to seg_APS and seg_AIS cells, when you are setting the APS path of a protection switching group, the U2000 Web LCT sets the working and the protection connections to segment points. Your settings of segment and end attributes cannot change the protection settings.
  • You cannot set a segment or end point on a protection route. If you set segment and end attributes at a connection point on the protection route, the protection cell is terminated at the segment point and thus protection is not applicable.
  • Set segment and end attributes at two NEs, that is, two termination points in a segment, as well as the connected services.
  • When the service type of the ATM service is the UNIs-NNI, you can set the Segment and End Attribute for Source. When the service type of the ATM service is UNI-UNI, you can set the Segment and End Attribute for Source and Sink.

Segment and End Attribute

Non segment and Endpoint, Segment point, Endpoint, Segment and Endpoint

Sets segment endpoint attribute. The ways that the port handles the OAM cell in different segment end attributes are described as follows:
  • If the segment end attribute is set to Endpoint, only the end-to-end OAM cells at the end can be terminated.
  • If the segment end attribute is set to Segment point, only the segment-to-segment OAM cells at the segment can be terminated.
  • If the segment end attribute is set to Segment and Endpoint, the end-to-end OAM cells and segment-to-segment OAM cells at the segment and end can be terminated.
  • If the segment end attribute is set to Non segment and Endpoint, the OAM cell is not terminated.
