Port Settings

In this interface, you can set and query parameters related to the port settings of DCN.

Navigation Path

In the NE Explorer, click the NE and choose Communication > DCN Management from the Function Tree. Then, click the Port Settings tab.

Parameters

Table 1 Descriptions of the parameters of Port Configuration

Field

Value

Description

E1

Checked, Unchecked

Sets whether E1 is selected.

CSTM-1

Checked, Unchecked

Sets whether CSTM-1 is selected.

POS

Checked, Unchecked

Sets whether POS is selected.

FE/GE

Checked, Unchecked

Sets whether FE/GE is selected.

IF

Checked, Unchecked

Sets whether IF is selected.

Port Name

Example: 7-EG6-1(PORT-1)

Display the ports used for transmitting the management information between NEs.

Enabled Status

Enabled, Disabled

Set to enable or disable the port.

  • Enabled: The management information between NEs can be transmitted through this port.
  • Disabled: The management information between NEs cannot be transmitted through this port.

Protocol Type

HWECC, IP, L2DCN

Set the type of protocol used by DCN.
NOTE:

If Protocol Type is set to different values for two interconnected sets of equipment, equipment interconnection fails. Therefore, set Protocol Type to the same value for both ends of a link.

IP Address

Example: 1.1.1.2

Set the IP address for the port.

Subnet Mask

Example: 255.255.255.0

Set the subnet mask of the port.

ATN Compatibility Mode

Enabled, Disabled

Sets whether the ATN compatibility mode is enabled.

  • Enabled: The NE can interconnect with an ATN NE through this port. This port can receive, process, and transmit packets in ATN format without affecting original DCN packets.
  • Disabled: The NE interconnects only with an RTN NE.
NOTE:

This parameter can be set only if FE/GE is selected as the port type.

VLAN

1 to 4094

Default: 4094

Sets the VLAN value for DCN services on the port.

The configured VLAN value indicates the inner VLAN if services on this port are transmitted in QinQ mode.

NOTE:
  • This parameter needs to be set when the port is connected to a device on a third-party network that cannot transparently transmit the DCN packets with the VLAN ID 4094.
  • This parameter can be set only if FE/GE is selected as the port type.
  • VLAN can be set only after Enabled Status is set to Enabled and Query is clicked.

OSPF Subnet

0 to 4

Sets the OSPF subnet where the port resides.

OSPF subnets are divided to improve management capability of gateway NEs (GNEs). A port can reside only on one OSPF subnet.
