Cable Transmitting Distance

In this user interface, when the NE is connected to an external clock source, you can set the cable transmission distance to modify the clock synchronization.

Navigation Path

In the NE Explorer, select an NE and then choose Configuration > Clock > PTP Clock > External Time Interface from the Function Tree. Click the Cable Transmitting Distance tab.

Background Information

The external time cable is used to connect the external time input equipment with the clock board.

Description

External Time Interface

shelf ID(shelf name)-slot number-board name-external clock interface

Indicates the name of the input interface of the external clock source on the NE.

Transmitting Direction

Ingress, Egress

Specifies the transmission direction of the cable of the external clock source.

NOTE:
  • When Enabled Status of a port is set to Enabled, Transmitting Direction can be set to only Ingress.
  • When Enabled Status of a port is set to Disabled, Transmitting Direction can be set to Ingress and Egress.

Transmitting Distance Mode

Length, Time

Default: Length

Specifies the mode of measuring the cable transmission distance of the external clock source.

Transmission Length (m)

0 to 300

Default: 0

Specifies the cable transmission length of the external clock source. Specify the value of the parameter as required, to modify the clock synchronization.

NOTE:

This parameter is valid only when the Transmitting Distance Mode parameter is set to Length.

Transmission Delay (ns)

0 to 1350

Specifies the cable transmission time of the external clock source. Specify the value of the parameter as required, to modify the clock synchronization.

NOTE:

This parameter is valid only when the Transmitting Distance Mode parameter is set to Time.
