The terminologies are defined below.
Terminology |
Meaning |
|---|---|
Unavailable time event |
It is also called Unavailable Time (UAT). A UAT event is reported when the monitored object generates 10 consecutive severely errored seconds (SES) and the SESs begin to be included in the unavailable time. The event will end when the bit error ratio per second is better than 10-3 within 10 consecutive seconds. |
UNI |
UNI is the abbreviation for User Network Interface. It identifies the interface between the user and the ATM network node. |
Unprotected sub-network |
It refers to a sub-network without any protection mechanism. The purpose of such configuration is to provide the basic data of trail protection for the subsequent trail management. |
UPC/NPC |
The UPC is shorted for Usage Parameter Control. During the communication, the UPC is implemented to monitor the actual traffic on each virtual circuit that is input to the network. Once the specified parameter is exceeded, measures will be taken to control. The NPC is shorted for Network Parameter Control. It is similar to the UPC in function. The difference is that the incoming traffic monitoring function is divided into UPC and NPC according to their positions. The UPC locates at the user/network interface, while the NPC at the network interface. |
Upload |
Report all or part of the configuration data of the NE to the NMS and overwrite the configuration data saved in the NE layer on the NMS side. |
User |
It refers to the user of the U2000 Web LCT client, and the user and his/her password define the corresponding authority of operation and management of the NMS. User is usually added in a user group, and enjoys the operation authority of the user group. The default user of the U2000 Web LCT is admin, which is defaulted a member of the administrator group, but enjoys more authorities, called additional authority, than the administrator group, so admin is also called super user. Super user admin can not be added in any other user groups and its authority can not be changed. When using the NMS for the first time, the system administrator logs in as "admin" with the default password. For the sake of security, the administrator should change the password immediately and create a new user as required and add him to the administrator group. If possible, do not log in to the NMS as "admin" so that you can avoid unexpected loss. |
User group |
User set refers to the set of NMS users with the same management authorities. The default user group includes: system administrator, system maintainer, system operator and system supervisor. The attributes of user set include name and detailed description. |
