Performing IP Address-based Traceroute Tests

You can traceroute an address of an third-party NE from Huawei NE to check their connection status or identify faulty nodes or links between the two NEs. The traceroute result shows whether the two NEs can communicate with each other and displays their intermediate nodes.

Procedure

  1. In the NE Explorer, select an NE and choose Communication > IP Protocol Stack Management.
  2. Click the IP Route Management tab, click Reachability Test and choose Trace Route.
  3. Set parameters in the Trace Route dialog box.

  4. Click Start Test. The result is displayed in Test Result.
