Creating the ODUk SNCP Protection

Background Information

The configuration mode of the unidirectional ODUk SNCP described in this section can only implement the configuration of selective receiving. The dual fed function needs to be configured at the source end. Two electrical cross-connect services are independently configured to implement the function.

You can configure bidirectional services with the ODUk SNCP protection. To configure a bidirectional service with the ODUk SNCP protection, the U2000 Web LCT automatically adds two normal WDM services in the reverse direction on the basis of the unidirectional service with the ODUk SNCP protection.

NOTE:

For the configuration principle and process of the electrical cross-connection with the ODUk SNCP protection, refer to Configuration Guide.

Procedure

  1. In the NE Explorer, select the NE and choose Configuration > Electrical Cross-Connection Configuration.
  2. In the lower portion of the Electrical Cross-Connection Configuration window, click Create SNCP. The Create SNCP dialog box is displayed. Set Protection Type to ODUk SNCP, select a corresponding value for Service Type, and set other parameters for the protection group.

    NOTE:
    • When you set Direction to Unidirectional, after you create the ODUk SNCP protection, only the selective receiving function is implemented. To ensure the service availability, you must create two routes in the reverse direction on the source.
    • When you set Direction to Bidirectional, the U2000 Web LCT automatically creates two routes in the reverse direction.
    • For details about the differences between the standard and compatibility modes, see the Differences Between Board Channels in the Compatible and Standard Modes.
    • For details about operation differences between the standard and compatibility modes, see the Impacts of the Standard Mode on the U2000 Web LCT.

  3. Click OK, and the created protection group is displayed in the user interface.
  4. Optional: Click Delete and then click OK in the dialog box that is displayed and the service is deleted.
