Submarine cable lines are management objects of the submarine monitoring system. They are also basic units of the line tests.
Submarine Cable Lines
The submarine communication system carries transoceanic services of a large capacity. Currently, it is the stablest transoceanic communication transmission solution. Lines in the submarine communication system refer to bidirectional service transmission channels carried by submarine cables. The system mainly includes submarine equipment such as SLTE, SLM, submarine cables, branching components, and repeaters.
Creating Lines
Submarine cable lines are objects managed by the submarine cable monitoring system. To manage and monitor the submarine cable system on the U2000 Web LCT, create submarine cable lines first.
Setting Fiber Parameters for a Line
Fiber parameters for lines mainly include fiber type, refractive indicator, attenuation coefficient, and fiber length. These parameters are useful in an measurement result analysis. To obtain an accurate analysis result, set fiber parameters for a line correctly.
Activating Lines
After you create a line on the U2000 Web LCT, you can activate the line to apply the test record files that including one manual test, one comparison test, one line test baseline and six periodic tests in In-Service mode and one line test baseline in Out-of-Service mode saved on the U2000 Web LCT to an NE. In this way, the test records can be associated with lines.
Modifying Lines
You can modify a line to change the line monitoring board, line amplifier board, line selection board, the number of spans, and parameters related to underwater devices on the line.
Deleting Lines
If the submarine cable line does not exist or is not managed by the U2000 Web LCT, you can delete the line on the U2000 Web LCT.
