The submarine communication system enters the routine maintenance state after you finish deployment, recover a fault, or re-obtain the baseline data. During the routine maintenance of submarine lines, you can observe the status of the lines by starting a comparison test. A comparison test automatically uses the same test parameters as the parameters for the current line test baseline, to generate an accurate comparison result, and to provide reference for alerts or alarms. A comparison test has two types: periodic and single-test. A comparison test in the periodic mode tests multiple lines of monitoring boards in the same line in the polling or scheduled manner, to realize real-time monitoring of multiple lines.
Procedure
- In the NE Explorer, select an NE and choose from the Function Tree.
- Click and select Start Comparison Test in Periodic Mode. The Start Comparison Test in Periodic Mode dialog box is displayed.
- Set the line monitoring board, test interval, and the line for which you want to start the test.
NOTE: Frequent tests may result in fast laser loss. When you start a comparison test in the periodic mode, you need to select a test interval according to the actual test requirements.- A test interval refers to a test is performed at regular interval. After a test is finished, the next test is automatically started after the interval elapses.
- In the polling manner, the selected line is tested constantly.
- Click Start to start the test.
NOTE:
- After the test begins, the Current Working Status of the selected line is shown as Test Status. The window shows the remaining time and progress of the test.
- After the test ends, the Current Working Status of the selected line is shown as Idle Status.
- The line is in a periodic test group, but its turn to start the test does not come yet, the Current Working Status of the line is shown as Waiting Status.
- Optional: Click View Test Result to view the line test result.
