According to functions, the boards of the submarine line terminal equipment are classified into the following types:
- Optical transponder board, including ETMX, ETMXS and other boards.
- Tributary and line board, including NS3, TOA and other boards.
- Optical multiplexer and demultiplexer board, including M40, V40 and other boards.
- Optical amplifier board, including OAU, OPU and other boards.
- System control, supervision and communication board, including SCC and other boards.
- Optical supervisory channel board, including SC1, SC2.
- Protection board, including OLP, DCP, OCP, SCS and other boards.
- Spectrum analyzer board, including MCA.
- Variable optical attenuator board, including VOA and VA4.
- Optical power and dispersion slope equalizing board, including DSE, GFU, TDC1 and TDC2.
