Enabling the LPT Function

When the overhead bytes that support the LPT protocol are added in the frames of the WDM-side signals, the operating status of the network access point or the service network can be monitored.

Prerequisites

The corresponding OTUs must be configured.

The services must be normal.

Precaution

If the board accesses GE services, the service mapping mode should be GFP-F. That is, set Service Type of the client LP interface to GE.
If the board accesses 10GE LAN services, the service mapping mode should be MAC transparent mapping. That is, set Port Mapping to MAC Transparent Mapping (10.7G) for the board.

Procedure

In the NE Explorer, select the board and choose Configuration > WDM Interface rom the Function Tree.
Select By Board/Port (Channel) and select Channel from the drop-down list.
Select the optical interface/channel, double-click LPT Enabling, and choose Enabled. Click Apply.
