LPT

Link-state pass through (LPT) is used to return the remote-end link status to the near end. The near-end equipment performs operations depending on the remote-end link status. The Ethernet board periodically monitors the network to know the Ethernet status. For the change in the connection status (from up to down or from down to up) of Ethernet ports, if the change is caused by the opposite equipment, a board at the local end, network cable, human factors and other reasons, you can use the LPT function to quickly switch the route to the equipment on both ends.

• Introduction to LPT
  As a link-based protection scheme, LPT provides the required network-level protection for point-to-point private line services by means of point-to-point link state pass-through.
• Function Implementation
  The LPT function transfers the link state information through certain OTN overhead bytes.
• Application of LPT
  In the WDM system, the LPT function can be applied only in a point-to-point manner.
• Enabling the LPT Function
  When the overhead bytes that support the LPT protocol are added in the frames of the WDM-side signals, the operating status of the network access point or the service network can be monitored.
