Application of ODUk SNCP

This section describes the application of the ODUk SNCP.

Figure 1 shows engineering project T which is a ring network by station A, B, C, and D. Station A, B, C, and D are OADM stations. Client service between station A and station B adopts ODUk SNCP protection realized by dual fed and selective receiving.

In normal cases, on the transmit side, client services are transmitted from tributary unit 1 to line units 2 and 3 in the working channel and protection channel respectively. On the receive side, tributary unit 1 selectively receives the working service of line unit 2.

On the transmit side, client services are transmitted from tributary unit 1 to line unit 2 in the protection channel. On the receive side, tributary unit 1 selectively receives the protection service of line unit 3, which means that the services are switched to the protection channel.
