In this user interface, you can set bit error alarm thresholds for ports. Bit errors are the bits in a data stream that become erroneous during reception, judgment, or regeneration and deteriorate quality of the information being transmitted. When the number of bit errors reaches a preset limit, NEs will report alarms. This limit is a bit error alarm threshold. Bit error alarm thresholds are classified into the excess threshold and degrade threshold. When the degrade threshold is exceeded, signals have degraded. If bit errors keep growing and exceed the excess threshold, an excessive number of bit errors have occurred.
In the NE Explorer, select the board and choose from the Function Tree.
