Browse Alarms

When querying NE status and performing maintenance operations, you need to view the current alarms and history alarms of the NE. Use this procedure to view the current and history alarms of an NE.

Navigation Path

In the NE Explorer, click the NE and choose Alarm > Browse Alarms from the Function Tree. Click the Browse Current Alarms tab or the Browse History Alarms tab to view the current alarms or the history alarms of the NE.

Description

Filter

Sets criteria for alarm filtering and view the result. Click Filter and set filter criteria in the Filter dialog box.

Synchronize

Checks the alarms in the Web LCT and those in the NE. If they are inconsistent, the alarms in the NE are uploaded to the Web LCT and overwrite the old one. If the Auto Refresh check box is checked, the Synchronize button is grayed out.

Displays the severity level of the alarm.

Alarm Name

For example: NE_NOT_LOGIN

Displays the name of the alarm.

Monitored Object

  • Equipment that supports the master and slave shelf management: NE name-shelf ID(shelf name)-slot number-board name-port number(port name)(-monitoring level)
  • Equipment that does not support the master and slave shelf management: NE name-slot number-board name-port number(port name)(-monitoring level)

Displays the monitored object.

Rising Time

Format: YYYY-MM-DD HH:MM:SS

Displays the time when the alarm is raised.

Cleared Time

Format: YYYY-MM-DD HH:MM:SS

Displays the time when the alarm is cleared.

Alarm Type

Communication, Process, Equipment, Service, Environment, Security

The alarms are divided into six categories based on the NM standard.

  • Communication alarm: Alarms related to NE Communication, ECC communication, optical signal communication, and so on.
  • Process alarm: Alarms related to software process and abnormal function.
  • Equipment alarm: Alarms related to Equipment hardware.
  • Service alarm: Alarms related to service and QoS.
  • Environment alarm: Alarms related to the power system and equipment room environment (temperature, humidity, access control, etc.)
  • Security alarm: Alarms related to the security of Web LCT and NEs.

Alarm Details

For example: The physical board is out of service.

Displays the alarm details.

Alarm Causes

For example: The board is not inserted.

The causes of the alarm generated. You can run fault location by alarm causes.

Auto Refresh

Checked, Unchecked

Decides whether to display the latest alarms. This function is equivalent to synchronizing the NE alarms.
