Underwater Device

In this user interface, you can set and modify parameters for underwater device on a line.

In the NE Explorer, select an NE and choose Configuration > Submarine Cable Line Management from the Function Tree. In the right pane, click the Underwater Device Parameters tab.

Parameter	Value	Description
Device Type	OADM BU, FP BU, and OEQ	Indicates the type of an underwater device.
Device Name	For example: BU1	Indicates the name of an underwater device. NOTE: When Device Type is OADM BU or FP BU, the Device Name value must be the same as the BU Name value; otherwise, lines are bound to submarine cables incorrectly.
Span ID	For example: 3	Indicates the cross-span ID of an underwater device. NOTE: The span ID must be equal to or less than the Number of Spans value.
Distance to Span Start Point (km)	0 to 400 For example: 70	Indicates the distance between an underwater device and start of its cross-span. NOTE: This distance must be equal to or less than the length of the cross-span fiber.
