CAR Configuration

In this user interface, you can configure CAR.

Navigation Path

In the NE Explorer, select a board and choose Configuration > QoS Management > Flow Management from the Function Tree. Click the CAR Configuration tab.

Guideline

After configuring a LAG, you can configure the CAR parameter only on the master port but the CAR parameter applies to the entire LAG. That is, the traffic volume of the LAG is based on the CIR/PIR on the master port.

Parameters

Field	Value	Description
CAR ID	Values of parameters vary with different boards and products.	The CAR ID (CAR Configuration) parameter specifies the ID of a committed access rate (CAR). When a CAR is created, it needs to be specified with a CAR ID.
Enabled/Disabled	Enabled, Disabled Default: Disabled	The CAR Enabled/Disabled (CAR Configuration) parameter specifies whether a CAR can limit the traffic volume.
Committed Information Rate (kbit/s)	Values of parameters vary with different boards and products.	The Committed Information Rate (CAR Configuration) parameter specifies the committed information rate (CIR) of the committed access rate (CAR). It specifies the minimum guarantee bandwidth of a flow. When you manually enter a value, you can only enter an integer that is a multiple of 64.
Committed Burst Size (kbyte)	Values of parameters vary with different boards and products.	The Committed Burst Size (CAR Configuration) parameter specifies the maximum guaranteed data volume of a flow, which can be transmitted within a certain period.You can enter this field as desired. The board adapts a value that is proximate to a multiple of 4K as the actual value.
Peak Information Rate (kbit/s)	Values of parameters vary with different boards and products.	The Peak Information Rate (kbit/s) parameter specifies the peak information rate (PIR) of the committed access rate (CAR). It specifies the allowed maximum rate of a flow. When you manually enter a value, you can only enter an integer that is a multiple of 64.
Maximum Burst Size (kbyte)	Values of parameters vary with different boards and products.	The Maximum Burst Size(CAR Configuration) parameter specifies the maximum excessive data volume of a flow, which can be transmitted within a certain period. You can enter this field as desired. The board adapts a value that is proximate to a multiple of 4K as the actual value.
