Clock Synchronization Status

In this user interface, you can query clock synchronization status of equipment, and set NE clock mode, synchronous source and data output method in the holdover mode.

Navigation Path

In the NE Explorer, click the NE and select Configuration > Clock > Physical Clock > Clock Synchronization Status from the Function Tree.

Parameter Description

NE Name

For example: NE3

Displays the name of an NE.

NE Clock Mode

Tracing Mode, Holdover Mode, Free-Run Mode

This field shows the current working mode of the clock function board on the NE. This field is read-only.

Tracing Mode: It is the normal working mode and indicates that the clock is synchronized with the input reference clock source under the actual service conditions.

Holdover Mode: Indicates that the clock works with the stored frequency information as the timing reference after all the timing references are lost.

Free-Run Mode: Indicates that the clock works through the internal oscillator.

S1 Byte Synchronization Quality Info

For example: NA

Displays the S1 byte synchronous quality information in the clock function on the current NE. For query only.

S1 Byte Clock Synchronous Source

For example: NA

Displays the trace source of the current NE clock. For query only.

This field displays NA until you press the Query button, and then it displays the related information.

Synchronous Source

For example: Internal Clock Source

Displays the trace source of the current NE clock. For query only.

Normally, the synchronous source should be a clock source with the highest priority among the clock stratums. If the synchronous source cannot be traced, try to trace a clock source with a lower priority level according to the sequence of the clock stratums.

Clock Control Mode

Standalone

Centralized

Sets the clock control mode.

In Centralized mode, the clock of slave NEs is controlled by the master NE and is not affected by the clock source priority table.

In Standalone mode, the clock of NEs is controlled by NEs themselves and is affected by the clock source priority table.

NOTE:
This parameter can be set only for the OptiX RTN 310 and OptiX RTN 9501C.

In the case of no microwave protection, the default clock control mode is Standalone. In the case of microwave IF 1+1 protection, the default clock control mode is Centralized. In the case of microwave PLA protection, the default clock control mode is Standalone and can be changed to Centralized.

Data Output Method in Holdover Mode

Normal Data Output, Keep the Latest Data

Default: Normal Data Output

Displays the data output method.

SSM Output Quality Threshold

G.811 Clock Signal, G.812 Transit Clock Signal, G.812 Local Clock Signal, G.813 SETS Signal

Indicates the threshold of output clock signals for an NE.
