How to Install the JRE in the Windows OS?

Question

If the submarine cable NE Explorer is required, you need to manually install the JRE of the 1.6.0_43 version. In this case, how to install it in the Windows OS?

Answer

  1. 1. Before a submarine cable window is displayed, the U2000 Web LCT automatically checks whether the JRE of the 1.6.0_43 version is installed. If the JRE is installed, the window is displayed. Otherwise, a dialog box is displayed asking you to install the JRE. The installation procedure is as follows:
  2. 2. Click Install. A dialog box is displayed asking you to download the JRE installation file. Click Run. Follow the wizard to install the JRE.
  3. 3. Do as follows to configure the memory for the virtual machine:
    1. Choose Start > Settings > Control Panel. The Control Panel window is displayed.
    2. Double-click the Java icon. The Java control panel is displayed.
    3. Click the Java tab.



    4. In the Java Application Runtime Settings area, click View. The JNLP Runtime Settings dialog box is displayed.
    5. In the Enabled column, select the JRE of the 1.6.0_43 version. If the JREs of multiple versions exist in the JNLP Runtime Settings dialog box, do not select the JREs of other versions. It is recommended that you delete the JREs of other versions.
    6. Click OK.
    7. In the Java Applet Runtime Settings area, click View. The Java Runtime Settings dialog box is displayed.
    8. In the Java Runtime Parameters column corresponding to the JRE of the 1.6.0_43 version, enter -Xms128m -Xmx256m.
    9. Click OK to finish the setting of the JRE.
