Add NE

You can use the Add NE function to set the NE attributes and create NEs on the Web LCT.

NE Type

Europe, North America WDM, North America RTN

Sets the NE type.

NE ID(*)

0-49151

Uniquely identifies the NE. The Web LCT recognizes the NE by the NE ID.

NOTE:

The Web LCT supports the ability to log in to an NE without using the NE ID. When you set NE ID and Extended ID to 0, you can directly search for the NE ID and Extended ID according the IP Address of the GNE.

Extended ID

0-254

Default: 9

Identifies the subnet of the NE, that is, the subnet number.

NE Name(*)

For example: NE1

Displays the NE name.

Gateway Type

IP Gateway, Serial Port, SSL Gateway, USB

Displays the type of the GNE that is used for the communication between the NE and the Web LCT.

NOTE:
  • Serial ports are unique and are used exclusively. Therefore, each serial port can be used to create only one NE in the NE List window. If you create multiple NEs, only the first NE can be successfully connected.
  • The communication status of serial ports may be incorrect after cables are removed or loosen.

IP Address

For example: 10.70.73.25

Displays the IP address of the GNE that the NE corresponds to. This field is available only when the Gateway Type is IP Gateway.

Port

If the GNE type is serial port, it is: COM1-COM32

If the GNE type is IP, it is: 1400

Displays the port number of the TCP/IP protocol. This field is available only when the Gateway Type is IP Gateway. You are not recommended to modify this parameter, because modification may interrupt communication between NEs and the U2000 Web LCT.

Baud Rate

1200bps, 2400bps, 4800bps, 9600bps, 19200bps, 38400bps, 57600bps, 115200bps

Displays the rate of the communication between the NE and the corresponding GNE. This field is available only when the Gateway Type is Serial Port.

NOTE:

You are advised to set Baud Rate to a value greater for a new NE, because timeouts may occur on the NE if Baud Rate is less than 9600bps.

User Name

Default: lct

It can contain a maximum of 16 characters.

Displays the NE user name.

NOTE:

The User Name and Password here must not be the same as the User Name and Password that:

  • Appear on the Add NE window when you are using the RTN Service Design Tool to configure NEs offline.
  • Appear on the Download Configuration Data window after you click Configuration > Download Configuration Data on the NE Explorer when you are applying a script to the NE.

Password(*)

Default: password

It can contain a maximum of 16 characters.

Displays the password of the NE user.

USB Dirver Installer

For example: xrusbser_x86_1800_installer

Choose the USB gateway type to create a network element must be loaded USB driver installation package.
