Set Security Policy

This topic describes the parameters on the Set Security Policy. When setting an account policy, you can refer to this topic.

Min. Password Length

Value range: 8-16

Default value: 8

Rule: The parameter with a larger value is more secure. To ensure the security and facilitate memory, the recommended value is 8.

Minimum length of the user name.

Max. Password Length

Value range: 8-16

Default value: 16

Rule: The parameter with a larger value is more secure. The recommended value is 16.

Maximum length of the user name.

Password Valid Date XX days

Value range: 0, 10-999

Default value: 0

Rule:
  • This parameter forces a user to change the password periodically. The recommended value is 180, that is, the password is checked every 180 days.
  • If 0 is entered, the user password will permanently valid.

The validity days of the user password.

The user is forced to change a password after a specified period. Otherwise, the user cannot log in to the Web LCT.

Lock user account after XX invalid logins

Value range: 0-99

Default value: 3

Rule:
  • The parameter with a smaller value is more secure, the recommended value is 3.
  • If 0 is entered, the user account will not be locked.

Maximum number of login attempts (the login fails due to incorrect passwords) by using the account registered with the Web LCT. When the number of attempts reaches the specified value, the Web LCT locks this account automatically.

Auto Unlock (minutes)

Value range: 1-999

Default value: 5

Rule: The parameter with a larger value is more secure. To ensure the security and account recovery capability, the recommended value is 30.

Automatic unlocking time specified for a user account.
