Connecting the Web LCT to NEs

To configure and manage NEs by using the Web LCT, you need to connect the Web LCT to the NEs with Ethernet cables or serial port cables.

Connect the Web LCT to the NEs with Ethernet cables.
1. Connect the Ethernet cable to the Web LCT computer.
2. Route the cable to the equipment side and connect the RJ-45 connector of the Ethernet cable to the NMS interface of the equipment panel.
Connect through the DCN.
1. Connect the Web LCT computer to the DCN using an Ethernet cable.
2. Connect one end of another Ethernet cable to the NMS interface of the equipment panel and connect the other end of the line to the DCN.
Connect the Web LCT to the NEs with USB cables.
1. Connect the USB cable to the Web LCT computer.
2. Route the cable to the equipment side and connect the jack of the USB cable to the OAM interface of the equipment panel.
Connect the Web LCT to the NEs with the RS 232 serial port cable.
1. Connect the serial port cable to the Web LCT computer.
2. Route the cable to the equipment side and connect the RS 232 connector of the serial port cable to the RS 232 interface of the equipment panel.
